This past Saturday we had two bridal showers for Jacq and it created such a fun-packed day full of family and friends that I cannot help but share!
Bridal Shower number one was at my Nanny's house, and my Aunt Summer decided to share some words of Godly wisdom with Jacqueline. Her kind heart left us all so thankful and in tears by the end. It was so lovely.
Once all the formality was over, Kaitlyn was the first to jump up and say, "We need photos!"
So outside we went to take some...
In order to kill time and get to hang out with my bestest friends in the entire world, we hit up Starbucks. Of course when you add these ladies and some good coffee, you have the best girl chats of your life.
Also, don't they just look like models? My goodness!
Then it was on to shower number three, which was significantly smaller so we just decided to make it a hang out. Which is when my day was made.
My soon to be nephew and I got to play with legos for at least an hour, but I think it was definitely longer than that. As I begin to realize that he is going to officially my my nephew I thought I would chat with him about it.
Me: Oliver guess what!
Me: I'm going to be your aunt
Oliver: *Smile and giggles* You're joking!
Me: Nope. When your daddy marries Ms. Jacqueline that will make me your aunt.
Oliver: *Give me a bashful grin* That's so cool!
Yea... pretty sure my heart melted in that very instance.
Altogether, Saturday was a lovely day and I am so excited to see what these next two weekends have in store for me.
Counting my blessings and waiting on the holidays. Love y'all!
I was on Facebook when I saw this photo that a man from NLC took and I was reminded that you never fail to amaze me.
You know, when people ask me about you one of my first things to mention is how patient you are. Coming from a girl who is far from patient, I strive to have that patience you have. The kind where no matter what is happening in life you are able to trust God with full knowledge that His plans for your life surpass your own. The kind where everyone around you can be so frustrated and take it out on you, yet you simply pray over it and stay happy.
Secondly I'd describe how much of a servants heart you have. You always take a task handed to you and treat it as a way to serve whomever you can. From feeding the homeless, packing Operation Christmas Child boxes, helping countless amount of people move, serving at Fall Fest, to opening the doors for everyone- you do it with so much joy in your heart.
But I always talk about how much love you have for those around you.
And for all of this and more, you simply amaze me.
This is not a political post. No, this is a heart check for myself and fellow Christians.
So lets do some real deep heart evaluation, shall we?
Let's get straight to the point, no matter what way the election went here is what God says about all the arguments we are having among ourselves:
Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.
Let's face it, anyone who disagrees with you is classified as a "difficult person". It's just a fact. However, really read what this is saying, you must be kind to everyone. Oh yes, even the people who voted for the opposite party.
The world is hurting and people feel hopeless. They are putting their trust and their faith in other humans and a lot of people are left disappointed.
Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.
This isn't saying to tell people who opposed your opinion that your opinion is the one that matters. Because your opinions do not equal the truth. Opinions are not facts, they are just opinions.
What this is saying is to tell the people who are hopeless the only way to have hope.
This is saying to tell the people who are hurting about the only one who can heal their broken hearts.
This is saying to tell the people about about God's grace.
For our God is for us, always.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
And His words are powerful.
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
And He hears our every cry.
As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.
So please hear me when I say this- what you say right now has the power to save or destroy.
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.
Every word, every argument, and every political debate happening on every social media site and in every restaurant has power. The battle between who is right and who is wrong benefits no one. In fact, at the end of all our words we are still left with our own opinions and the only thing that truly changes afterwards is our influence.
So fellow Christians I want to Challenge you to lead a life worthy of your calling and be that light in this world. Take every opinion of what the world has called you, and show them who God has called you.
You are a leader.
You are a masterpiece.
You are His hands and feet.
You are royalty.
You are a peacemaker.
So let's start acting in unity and be the people God calls us to be, shall we?
Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.
You know, I think people tend to get homebodies confused with introverts but this couldn't be further from the truth. I enjoy talking to people, meeting new people, and going out and spending time with people. It's just that, personally, I really only like going out if there is a point. I don't like aimlessly walking around stores nor do I enjoy sitting around asking "what do you want to do". For me, if we are going to go out then let's plan something or have an idea. Otherwise, you will find me at home in my sweat pants watching Criminal Minds.
I am so glad you stopped by. I cannot wait to hear from you!
